GrappleBall was created for the 2018 Technology Students of America (TSA) competition. The game advanced to the national competition, where it placed 7th. The game is a variant of soccer where every player is equipped with a grappling beam. You can "Yank" the ball towards you if your fuel meter is full, but this same fuel can also be used to increase your movement speed as you run around the arena.
For this project, I wore many hats. I designed the game's mechanics, did all of the programming and sound, and managed the team. GrappleBall was programmed entirely with Unreal Engine 4's Blueprints system, and features networked multiplayer (with physics) and dynamic AI opponents. |
